May to October - No Booking; November to April - Booking required. We meet every morning at the same time and place for the two hour walk. Beautiful scenery, mountains, lakes and woods; some by old landlord houses with lovely gardens. We walk through woodland, parkland, along the lake shore and the river walk. In fact just about wherever you and your feet want to go!! Visit ancient places like the old copper mines (dating back 4000 years), 6th century monastery ruins on Innisfallen Island or the 15th Century Ross Castle. See where Brother Cudda slept for 200 years, where Queen Victoria visited in 1861 and where President De Gaulle of France stayed in 1969. Also, in the same year, where part of the award winning Ryan's Daughter (starring Robert Mitchum) was filmed. | |
